God's Covenant With Abraham

Age 5+: Read Genesis 12:1-5, 17:1-9, 21:1-7
Under 5: Read about Abraham and Sarah from a children's story bible or the short summary below.

One day God spoke to a man named Abram. He told him to leave his country, his people, his father’s house, and to go to a new land. Abram trusted God, so he set out for the land of Canaan with his wife and all their possessions.

When Abram was 99 years old, God made a covenant with him. He promised to give him many children. God changed his name to Abraham because he would be the father of many nations. God also gave Abraham the whole land of Canaan. God kept His promise and even though she was very old, Abraham’s wife, Sarah, gave birth to a son the following year. They named him Isaac, which means “laughter.”
