Daniel and the Lion's Den

Age 5+: Read Daniel 6
Under 5: Read about Daniel from a children's story bible or the short summary below.

Daniel prayed to God every day. There were some men that didn't like Daniel and wanted him to get in trouble. They asked the king to make a new rule saying that the people could only pray to the king, or else they would be thrown into a den with hungry lions. Daniel knew about the king's new rule, but he still prayed to God every day. They mean men saw Daniel praying to God and told the king. The king was sad, but he had to put Daniel in the lion's den. The king hoped Daniel's God would rescue him.

Daniel prayed that God would save him. The next morning, the king rushed to the den. God had heard Daniel's prayer and sent angels to shut the mouths of the lions! The lions did not hurt Daniel. The king was so happy and he wrote a letter to the whole country telling people about Daniel's God -- the God who had saved Daniel from the lions and the God who was stronger than any king on the earth.
